Gęsia Szyja - 1489 m

Gęsia Szyja is a peak in the mountainous part of the High Tatras, rising to a height of 1,489 m above sea level. It lies between two valleys: the Sucha Woda Valley and the Białka Valley. Its name refers to the characteristic shape that resembles a gooseneck. It is one of the few places in Poland where Moravian monkshood occurs.

The top of the Goose Neck is covered with dolomite rocks, the so-called Waksmundzkie Rocks. From the top you can admire the panorama of the Tatra Mountains, stretching from the Belianske Tatras to the Western Tatras. With a nice parade, the visibility reaches as far as Mięguszowieckie Szczyty. As a curiosity, it is worth mentioning that already in 1878 the panoramic view from Gęsia Szyja was praised by Tytus Chałubiński as "a view of a hundred peaks and mountain passes".
