The lookout point lies on an 8 km long nature path leading along the meadows on the south-west side of the lake. This postglacial lake together with the reeds surrounding it is a biosphere reserve inscribed on the UNESCO list. It is one of the largest mute swan refuges in Poland. In the summer-autumn period up to 2,500 swans can be observed there.
Łuknajno Lake is very shallow, its average depth is just over half a meter. It has a poorly shaped shoreline. Due to this, you should move along it only along a marked path, and observe from the observation tower. In addition to the mute swan, more than 175 other bird species can be observed. There are among others coot, grebe, gray heron, white-tailed eagle and helmets rare in Poland. The lake is also inhabited by raccoon dogs, wild boars, American minks and elks.
