Leopold Kindermann's villa is on the world list of Iconic Houses. This Art Nouveau villa is the headquarters of Villa Gallery - a branch of the Municipal Art Gallery. The historic interiors of this building are mainly stuccos and stained glass windows.
The villa was designed around 1901 by Gustaw Landau-Gutenteger for Leopold Kindermann. It was built in the years 1902 - 1903 on the land received in a dowry from the Leopold's wife, Laura Eliza. After the death of the first owner, the villa became a property of Emil Eisert, the second husband of Laura Eliza. That's why it is sometimes also called the "Eisert's villa".Another popular name of the facility is "Villa under Apple Trees". After the end of World War II, a kindergarten had been functioning in the building. Since 1975, a branch of the Municipal Art Gallery has been located there. In the years 2010-2013 Leopold Kindermann's villa underwent a major renovation, which didn't interfere with the architecture of the building.Less
