Władysław Reymont Regional Museum
Local name: Muzeum Regionalne im. Władysława Reymonta
The museum is located in the textile factory Winklów, founded in 1889. A year earlier, Władysław Reymont appeared in Lipce, thanks to which the village became famous as a place of action of "Chłopów" - a novel honored with the Nobel Prize.
The patron of the museum began his professional career as a helper of the plant supervisor of the Warsaw-Vienna Railway. He dealt with maintaining good technical condition of the tracks. A brick building has survived to this day, in which the future Nobel Prize winner lived in 1888-1893.
The exhibition "Travel Letters" tells about Reymont's life. A collection of clay figurines depicting the characters of the novel "Chłopi" is also presented. In addition to souvenirs of Reymont, the museum has a rich collection of folk costumes, works of art, fabrics, traditional farm equipment and agricultural tools. Machines and production equipment from the Winkl textile manufacture are a separate exhibition.
