Lewków Palace

Local name: Pałac w Lewkowie

The palace is located in a palace and park complex. On its territory there is a residence and two annexes in the classical style, and everything is surrounded by a park with an English-style pond. The rich façade of the building is unique in Poland. In the palace chambers you can see an exhibition of interiors, reconstructed according to the original condition.

The building was built in 1786-1791 according to the design of Jan Chrystian Kamsetzer, architect of King Stanisław August, for Wojciech Lipski and his wife Salomea. It is a brick, two-story building erected on a rectangular plan and covered with a hip roof. From the front, the facade is decorated with a four-column Ionic portico with a triangular tympanum, and from the park side a semi-circular projection.

In the Rotunda Hall it is worth paying attention to the column oven, which, like the entire hall, has a circular shape. The Landscape Salon, decorated with furniture in the style of Ludwik Filip, is decorated with so-called illusionist wall paintings - original polychromies from the beginning of the 19th century. In the sideboard room we will see a gallery of Sarmatian portraits, and in the living room a collection of patriotic content.
