Krobielowice Palace
Local name: Pałac w Krobielowicach
The palace is located in the Bystrzyca Valley Landscape Park. It currently houses a hotel and restaurant, and there is a golf course in the surrounding area.
Built in the fourteenth century, the fortified manor belonged to the von Sitten family. Then he became the property of the monastery. In 1529, the manor was transformed into a palace. In the 19th century, Prussian Field Marshal Gebhart Leberecht von Blücher became the new host of the building.
The palace was a gift from King Frederick William III for the merits of Blücher in the fight for freedom and participation in the defeat of Napoleon at Waterloo. The palace remained in the hands of the Blücher family until 1945. After the end of World War II and the incorporation of Silesia to Poland, the castle housed, among others kindergarten, housing of PGR employees.
The palace gradually fell into ruin. It was restored by its current owner - a New Zealander related to the Blücher family, who, as a small boy, saw the palace drawings made by his cousin grandmother, who visited Krobielowice during World War I.
