Town Hall tower

Local name: Wieża ratuszowa

Town Hall Tower in Cracow's Old Town is the last remnant of the Town Hall. Nowadays, a branch of the Historical Museum of the City of Cracow, and also the underground "Stage under the Town Hall" owned by the Ludowy Theatre are located in the tower. The 70-meter tower is also the viewpoint with a sight on the Old Town.

The tower has a clock on it and sculptures of two lions from the 19th century, which were brought from the classicist Morstin Palace in Pławowice, lying in front. In the past, the building of the Town Hall adhered to the tower but was demolished in 1820. There was an idea to built a new, impressive town hall but it was never realized.

The Historical Museum of the City of Cracow presents a small exhibition dedicated to the history of the city. It also organizes temporary exhibitions.
