Jan Matejko Manor House in Krzesławice is a 19th-century rural, noble residence where Jan Matejko lived for big part of his life. The arrangement of the manor and the veranda, which Matejko designed, remained as they were in the then times. The interiors were set up in the style from the second half of the 19th century. The painter's workshop also was re-created.
Matejko bought the manor in Krzesławice from his relatives - the Kirchmayer Family. It is a ground floor, whitened building with shake roof and residential attic. The artist designed preserved veranda and workshop by himself. Unfortunately, almost nothing remained of the interior equipment. Only the doors, wooden bench, and the bell for calling residents remember times when the manor was inhabited by the Matejko Family. The piano of Teodora, Matejko's wife, can also be seen here.The interiors were furnished with furniture form the second half of the 19th century. Numerous trinkets and decorative items also come from these times. Several of Matejko's graphics and paintings by other artists which depicts the house in Krzesławice are placed on the walls.Less
