Water tower

Local name: Wieża ciśnień

The tower dates from the late nineteenth century. It was built in the neo-Gothic style with the most versatile material available at that time - red brick. Historical turmoils saved it and the tower survived to this day intact. The building vividly resembles one of the main chess pieces.

After the Second World War the water tower remained unused for a long time. In the end, however, it was brought to run. On the first floor of the tower there is a restaurant and a beer house. At the top, a water tank has been preserved, which has a capacity of three-quarters of a thousand cubic meters.

An interesting fact related to the water tower is that it has become part of a modern water supply network, which replaced the old medieval infrastructure for water transmission built from wooden pipes.
