Reduta is a solid historic defensive building built of red bricks. It is part of Kolobrzeg Fortress. It is located on the Drzewnym canal at Solny Bridge, which borders the Parsęta River. It was formed to defend the crossing. There is a tavern in the courtyard.
It is made up of two objects in the shape of a semicircle with a common center. The building is located between Parsęta and the streets of Solna and Szyprów. The Bastion pierces the moat, which is the back of the river. The canal along with the earthen fortifications forms a pentagon. The extremely proportional boulder body reminds many older defensive structures, mainly because of "windows", which served as openings with characteristic oblique faces. In addition to the slots for rifles in the slab wall, there are gaps previously designated for heavy artillery.
The history of this place dates back to the beginning of the nineteenth century, when a bridgehead of a light wooden structure was constructed at this site to protect the bridge.
