Fuse Tower

Local name: Baszta Lontowa

Lontowa Tower belongs to the defense system of Kołobrzeg. Its stately building stands on Dubois Street opposite the courthouse. It is the most popular tower in the city. There are only two towers in Kolobrzeg.

The foundations of the tower form a rectangle. The gothic building is a shotgun. Most impressive are the niches that decorate the façade. The building has, in addition to the basement and attic, four storeys. The gable roof is covered with ceramic tile.

Interesting place is his name. By the way, locals call it Powder Tower, but this name is not correct and was caused by an incorrect German translation. After World War II it was given a new name.

History dates back to the 14th century when it was incorporated into the city walls. It survived nearly seven hundred years, although after the last war suffered minor damage. In the post-war period, it housed first a hostel and a nice café. Currently, there is a tourist information center and PTTK headquarters.
