The railway bridges in Kiepojcie are one of several similar ones that once led through the Romincka Forest along the border with Russia. The northern spans of the viaducts made of brick and concrete were built before the outbreak of World War I. However, the southern bridge from 1918 is unfinished, as the embankments that were supposed to lead to it were not built. Bridges in Kiepojciach sometimes are called "Little Stańczyki".
As a curiosity it is worth adding that both the former and current name of the village is of Lithuanian origin. Near the village there is an evangelical cemetery and a railway viaduct belonging to the now closed Botkuny - Żytkiejna lines. Like the bridges in Stańczyki, also those in Kiepojcia were designed by Italian architects, the style in which they were built brings to mind Italian aqueducts. Kiepojcie is located on the Bludzia River and the northern edge of the Przerośl Lake, in the central-southern part of the Dubeninki commune in the Suwałki Region. Probably their double construction is a representation of bridges from France, Austria, Switzerland and western Germany.Less
