Plac Piastowski
Local name: Plac Piastowski
The square in the city center consists of two intersecting streets and alleys. It is surrounded by many colorful tenements and historic buildings. They play the role of commercial, service and cultural facilities.
The square has many interesting places for tourists. Triangular House, the Church of St. John the Baptist or Schaffgotsch Palace are just some of the historic sites worth visiting. On the other hand, noteworthy recreational places include "Lalka" sanatorium or Cieplickie Termy.
In the past, only two streets converged here. The first of them was called Schlossplatz, the second Hirschbergerstrasse. At Schlossplatz there was a palace of the then owners of Cieplice springs, the Schaffgotsch family. Later, these streets changed their name to Michał Rola Żymierski and May 1.
