The Wysokie Skałki reserve is situated on the border with Slovakia, in the area of the Lesser Pieniny Mountains, at an altitude of 900-1050 m above sea level. It includes the highest peak in the Pieniny Mountains, Wysoka. It is a forest and landscape reserve, created primarily to protect the only preserved fragment of the upper mountain forest of spruce forest in the Pieniny.
There are rare plants in the reserve, such as the gold-headed lily, aconite aconite, alpine clematis or daffodil. There are also many species of birds here - you can meet here, among others eagle owls, common buzzards and lesser spotted eagles.
Two hiking trails lead to the reserve. The green trail runs from Jaworki through the Homole Gorge and Polana pod Wysoką. The blue trail runs along the ridge of the Little Pieniny Mountains from Szczawnica to Jaworki.
