The "Sabala" shelter in Jastarnia is the largest of the combat shelters of the Jastarnia Resistance Center. Currently it houses a museum. Visitors can learn about the equipment and how this type of fortification works from the Second World War and see the exposition of Hel's war history.
The "Sabala" shelter crew was 20 people in command, serving as a commanding officer. The interior is divided into 16 separate rooms. The shelter was equipped with three machine guns and one anti-tank gun. Its walls are made of reinforced concrete, their thickness is over 2 meters.
The shelter can be seen at the Fortress Heritage Museum in Jastarnia. Apart from "Sabala" there are also other heavy combat shelters: "Falcon", "Saragossa" and "Vulture", as well as light shelters, anti-tank barriers and anti-personnel barriers.
