The central part of Głogówek is the Market Square. In its vicinity there are the most important monuments of the city, with the church and Franciscan monastery at the forefront. It is a rectangular square surrounded by picturesque tenements. A large part of them come from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. In the center of the market stands a baroque town hall with an octagonal tower. In the northern part you can see the 17th century Marian Column.
The market was marked out during the location of the city in the 13th century. Nothing has survived from its architecture. The oldest tenements surrounding the market come from the 18th century. They have decorated volute tops and facades decorated with pilasters. However, the vast majority of buildings are houses from the 19th and 20th centuries.
The central part of the square is occupied by a rectangular town hall with a sloping roof and a gable decorated with pinnacles and cornices. A tower with a gallery covered with a baroque helmet stands above the building. An old cradle ceiling has been preserved in the Meeting Room. A valuable monument within the market is a column crowned with the figure of the Virgin Mary with a child from the 17th century.
