Redłowo Stationary Battery

Local name: 11. Bateria Artylerii Stałej w Redłowie

The artillery battery in Redłowo which is the seaside district of Gdynia, is one of the most magnificent military monuments of the Tricity. The complex was built after the World War II and includes a number of valuable objects, including guns, ammunition depots, power plant, and so-called fire control points.

The Gdynia Stationary Artillery Battery was built on Kępa Redłowska in the 1940s and was intended to defend the harbour against potential attacks from the sea. Nowadays, a special historical-landscape path runs along it, divided in such a way that visitors can see all the historic objects. These include: four cannon posts for cannons of size 130 mm, Main Fire Control Point and Supplementary Fire Control Point, special ammunition warehouses, reflector standpoint, compressor station, and power plant.
