Church of the Resurrection of the Lord
Local name: Kościół Zmartwychwstania Pańskiego
The Church of the Resurrection is one of the oldest monuments located in Drawsko Pomorskie. The late-Gothic temple impresses with its historic interior. Inside you can see some interesting and beautiful objects. It houses, among others, a wooden altar from 1705, a baroque baptismal font, a wooden pulpit, or colorful stained glass.
The construction of the church lasted from the fourteenth to the fifteenth century. The three-nave building was made of brick in the hall type, most likely on the site of a former wooden temple. In addition, you can admire the octagonal apse and the seventy-five-meter church tower. The building was often harassed by fires and repeatedly renovated and rebuilt.
Portals deserve special attention, especially the northern and southern ones. They were decorated with carvings depicting characters who are half human and half mythical and with floral motifs. In addition, the eye-catches the unusual stained glass windows: five geometric-plant in the presbytery and two in the windows of the tower.
