The splendid wooden churches listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List include the St. Michal Archangel in Debno. It was built in the Gothic style in the second half of the fifteenth century - from this period to today's preserved nave and presbytery.
Church of Sts. Archangel Michael is one of the best preserved wooden churches in Podhale. From the outside, the wooden temple is truly magnificent, complementing the incredible Tatra landscape.
Inside the church is a lot of valuable equipment. In the church there is an impressive altar, a monument of panel painting, baroque main altars, a crucifix from the end of the fourteenth century or a statue of Sts. Nicholas from the first half of the 15th century.
Definitely worth seeing in the church of Sts. Archangel Michał in Dębno is a polychrome originating from 1500, which makes it the oldest such painting in Europe. Polychrome presents 77 motifs painted in 33 colors.
