Museum of the Czarnków Land

Local name: Muzeum Ziemi Czarnkowskiej

The museum is based in the building of the former Prussian school. Established in 1998 thanks to the efforts of the Social Committee of the inhabitants of Czarnków and the surrounding area. The collected and systematically enlarged collections were divided into three sections: archaeological, ethnographic and historical. The entire exhibition closes with beautiful photographs from the 1920s and 1930s.

The archaeological exhibition shows items excavated from excavations, including bone needles, clay rattles or bronze axes. The historical part introduces the history of Czarnków from the 16th century to the 1930s. Here, we will see a nobility of the nineteenth century, a uniform jacket of a soldier from the period of the Duchy of Warsaw, or the Book of the Kuśnier Guild with the first entry date from 1741. The third section is devoted to the religions of former and current residents of the city. Czarnków was a multi-faith city, which is why you can admire the sacred objects of three religious groups: Catholicism, Judaism and Evangelism.
