A street in the southern part of the Old Town, 150 meters long, is a place that has preserved the climate of the Middle Ages until present day. Although walls of the houses that limit the street are dated back to the end of the 18th and 19th centuries, some of them still contain Gothic cellars. In one of them Medyk club is situated. An interesting architectural element is a skyway - a special connection between the buildings at 24 Old Market Square and 41 Długa Street.
In the past, the street was a facility with backrooms for neighboring buildings. Stables for horses, outbuildings were located there and supplies were delivered there. During the archaeological excavation traces of many medieval buildings, both wooden and stone, were also found there. Also, the remains of the former surface from the wooden semi-logs laid on the beams that used to be a paved surface, have been discovered. Zaułek has gained its current appearance after revitalization carried out in 2005.Less
