The church from the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries was built on the site of a wooden temple. Over the centuries, it was expanded, which is why a combination of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque elements is visible here. When in 1835 the Prussian authorities liquidated the monastery, the church served, among others as a warehouse or fire station. His religious function was restored in the interwar period.
