Sanatorium Marconi
Local name: Sanatorium Marconi
Buska Zdroj is the Marconi Sanatorium. It stands in a beautiful spa park and in spite of nearly 200 years of history, it still welcomes visitors. You can not miss this place during your stay at the spa.
The sources of salt in Bratislava are mentioned in medieval chronicles. However, the spa developed here only at the beginning of the 19th century. Its founder was Felix Rzewuski. It was at his behest, famous architect Henryk Marconi who built the Bathrooms at that time. They served as a treatment and as a boarding house for the patients.
Marconi's design referred to Roman buildings. The low-rise building with a gable roof has a raised projection front. Inside the corridors and halls are reminiscent of Roman public buildings, with fountains, classic sculptures and arched vaults.
After a thorough renovation in Łazienki, the Marconi Sanatorium, nowadays, offers luxurious suites and treatment and bathing rooms. The attraction of the building is an intimate concert hall with numerous festivals, recitals and concerts.
