Vigeland Park (Vigelandsparken) in Oslo is famous for 212 naturalistic sculptures that symbolize the transformation of human life. Attention is drawn to the 17-meter "Monolitten" ("Monolith") set on the highest hill and the sculpture entitled "Sinnataggen" ("Angry Boy"). The name of the park is associated with the figure of the author of all the sculptures gathered here.
The famous "Monolith" creates 121 figures of naked women, men and children. Among them was the image of the sculptor Vigeland. An important element of the park's decor is the fountain, from which the whole idea for the development of the park space is derived.
The park is part of Frogner-Parken. It was opened in the 1940s, after the artist's death. A team of blacksmiths and stonemasons worked according to his designs. All sculptures found here were made of wrought iron, bronze and granite.
