Sørenga Sjøbad is an extensive municipal bathing complex in Oslo. Tourists and city residents can take a bath directly in the sea, relax on the sandy beach or sit on the wide wooden stairs. The bathing area is surrounded by a wooden promenade. From here you can admire the view of Bjørvik, the Oslo Opera House and the Akershus Fortress.
For people who like an active way of spending time, a small wooden tower with stairs was built, which is used for jumping into the water. Children can bathe in the small pool, which is adapted to their needs. The bathing beach was opened in 2015, it was designed by architects from the LPO studio.
Oslo residents use Sørenga Sjøbad all year round. In winter, a cold water bath is practiced after a sauna visit. There is a promenade nearby, along with cafes and restaurants where you can sample traditional Norwegian dishes.
