Naturhistorisk museum belongs to the University of Oslo. It consists of three parts: a botanical, geological and zoological museum. You can see here, among others a beautiful rock garden with a waterfall, a collection of crystals and fragments of meteorites, as well as listen to recorded singing of Norwegian birds.
The zoological museum exhibits animal species from around the world. In the "Norwegian Hall" ("Norse sal") visitors will see, among others bear and lynx. Part of the exhibition is devoted to long-extinct species, such as Tasmanian Wilkowór or Giant Alka.
The geological museum shows a collection of minerals from various regions of Norway, fluorescent minerals are a treat for visitors. You can also see dinosaur skeletons and ambers with embedded creatures inside.
The botany section is a collection of over 8,500 plant species. Guests willingly visit the fragrant herb garden and palm house. The historic Tøyen farm is located in the central part.
