The exhibition of the Kon-Tiki Museum in Oslo shows the history of the expeditions of the well-known traveler and ethnographer Thor Heyerdahl. Here you can see the archive of the expedition, which consists of materials from 1937-2002. The archive has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Memory list. A valuable object in the museum is the original Kon-Tiki raft, which the traveler traveled the road between Peru and Polynesia in 1947.
The archive of Thor Heyerdahl includes photographs, dailies, private correspondence and maps. Visitors can also see a documentary showing the details of Kon-Tiki's expedition, which received an Oscar in 1952.
The exhibition includes other valuable objects, such as the papyrus Ra II boat, built by the Bolivian tribe of the Aymara Indians, which arrived from Morocco to Barbados, and exhibits brought from Easter Islands.
