22. juli-Senteret is a government institution whose main purpose is to inform about terrorist attacks that took place on July 22, 2011 in Oslo and on the island of Utøya. The center was officially opened on the fifth anniversary of the event. A memorial room for 77 victims was created in it.
The terrorist attacks took place on July 22, 2011. First, an explosive charge was detonated in front of the office of the Norwegian prime minister, as a result of the explosion 8 people were killed and a dozen were injured. The bomb was in the car - the trap. Two hours later, the bomber attacked the island of Utøya. An armed supporter of the extreme right shot at the participants of the Norwegian Labor Party's youth camp. He killed 69 people, wounded 110.
The nightmare on Utøya Island lasted 1.5 hours. The perpetrator has been apprehended. On July 25, victims were honored with a minute's silence in all Scandinavian countries, and a silence march was organized in Oslo.
