Trinity Church in central Oslo in the district of St. Hanshaugen. The Lutheran temple is one of the largest churches in the capital of Norway, housing places for about a thousand faithful. It is distinguished by the original octagonal shape popular in this Scandinavian country and is one of the few such churches built of red brick.
Built in the neo-Gothic style, the Church of the Holy Trinity was consecrated by Bishop Jens Lauritz Arup in 1858. The author of the temple design was the German architect Alexis de Chateauneuf, after which his student Wilhelm von Hanno took over, introducing several changes to the original appearance of the church. Inside you will find many works of art by well-known and respected Norwegian artists such as Claus Jensen, Adolph Tidemand or Frøydis Haavardsholm.
