Nærøyfjorden is a fjord located in the municipality of Aurland. In 2005, together with Geirangerfjorden, it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Its length is 17 kilometers.
The fjord waters surround steep slopes over a kilometer high, the landscape is diversified by waterfalls and houses painted in white and red standing on the surrounding farms. This view can be enjoyed from the deck of a cruise ship or ferry, cruises are organized in the summer season.
On the shore of the fjord is the picturesque village of Gudvangen, where you can see traditional buildings, including a hotel with a roof covered with green moss and wooden houses. Cruise ships often stop here.
Nærøyfjorden became the inspiration for the creators of the Disney movie "Frozen", modeled on it during the creation of the fairy tale world of Arendelle.
