National Park de Alde Feanen
Local name: Nationaal Park de Alde Feanen
The area of 25 km2 of lakes, forest areas, peat bogs and meadows is inhabited by about 100 species of birds, including the rare white stork in the Netherlands. An additional attraction are the partially tame herds of Shetland ponies and the picturesque 18th-century wind mills.
