Caves Zonneberg
Local name: Grotten Zonneberg
About 80 km long. a system of caves and corridors was created as a result of nearly 1,000 years of limestone mining. Huge corridors and caves are covered in paintings in many places - works of artists who, like thousands of Maastricht inhabitants, hid here from the bombings during World War II.
