Skadar Lake National Park

Local name: Nacionalni park Skadarsko jezero

It is the largest lake on the Balkan Peninsula, whose area ranges between 360 and 550 km2. The reservoir lying on the territory of Albania and Montenegro has been protected (on the Montenegrin side) as a National Park. The lake is a huge refuge for water birds - there is one of the few pelican habitats in Europe.
