Catacombs

The underground of the 18th century college building of the collegiate church of St. Paweł, which have a connection to the cave, in which according to records Paweł was supposed to take shelter after the shipwreck had crashed on the way from Crete to Rome.

Currently, the upper floors of the palace are designated for exhibitions of Maltese and European art as well as collections of religious art and memorabilia from the history of Gozo.

The undergrounds are located on several levels and come from different periods of time. Some of them were created in Roman and Punic times, others were anti-aircraft shelters from World War II. Necropolis from the early Christian period was also discovered in the cellars.
