Fortifications of Mdina

Located in the heart of Malta, Mdina boasts perfectly preserved city fortifications with a star layout. In the current version they were built between the 16th and 18th centuries, but the center was fortified in ancient times. The huge walls are reinforced with bastions, and decorative entrance gates lead to the Old Town. Fortifications are currently the biggest attraction of the city. You can walk around them watching the views of the historic center and the surrounding area.
