An underground building from the period between 3000 and 2500 BC, a kind of sanctuary and at the same time a cemetery. It creates a system of corridors and chambers on three levels, in which the remains of rock paintings have survived. During the research, the remains of over 20,000 dead and numerous cult objects were discovered here. The building resembles ground-based Neolithic tombs and is still intensively studied by archaeologists and anthropologists. In 1980 Hypogeum was included on the UNESCO list.
