Il-Bajja ta' Marsaskala

Il-Bajja ta 'Marsaskala is a bay with the popular resorts of Marsascala and Marsaxlokk. Il-Bajja ta 'does not have its own beach - the nearest sandy beach is located in the bay of St. Thomas Bay The compensation is the promenade along the shore - an ideal place for walks with numerous cafes and entertainment venues.

The landmark of Marsascala is the tower of St. Thomas, erected by the Knights of St. John just after the great siege of Malta in 1565, it currently has a restaurant offering local dishes and an excellent view of the bay. It is worth going for a longer walk along the waterfronts to see the numerous salinas in this area - shallow basins carved in the rock, in which sea water is evaporated to obtain salt.
