Gates of Dawn

One of the most representative attractions in Vilnius, the Gate of Dawn, was built in 1503-1514. Together with the adjacent fragment of the defensive walls, it is the only remnant of the old city fortifications. From the inside of the gate, there is the Ostra Brama Chapel with the famous painting of Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn, Queen of the Polish Crown, to which pilgrims from all over the world come every year.
