The Basilica of Saint Lorenzo in Lucina in Rome is a temple from the 4th century. It is famous for the painting in the main altar, it is "Christ on the Cross" by Guido Reni. A valuable monument is the coffered ceiling from the 17th century.
The church facade is decorated with a portico with six columns. In one of the chapels dedicated to the Czech priest and martyr Jan Nepomucen, there is a statue of the patron from the eighteenth century and paintings showing scenes of his martyrdom.
In the basilica, you can see the tombstone of Gabriele Fonseca - the personal doctor of Pope Innocent X, which is adorned with a white sculpture created by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. French painter Nicolas Poussin, Czechoslovakian composer Josef Mysliveček and Tuscan composer Bernardo Pasquini are also buried in the church.
The local organs come from the early twentieth century, were designed and manufactured in the well-known workshop Fabbrica d'organi Mascioni.
