The Basilica of San Lorenzo in Damaso in Rome is a historic temple from the 15th century, whose interior hides many valuable monuments of sacred art. Tourists can admire it, including painting "The Last Supper" by Vincenz Berretini. There is also the grave of Cardinal Luigi Traglia.
Noteworthy are figures depicting St. Franciszek Ksawery and Saint. Karol Boromeusz - the work of Stefano Maderno and the monument "Gabriella di Savoia Massimo" by Pietro Tenerani.
According to the results of archaeological research, the first church was erected in this place as early as in the 4th century. However, it was demolished in the 15th century and replaced by today's building. The creator of the basilica design remains unknown. Authorship is attributed to, among others the Renaissance architect Donato di Angelo del Pasciuccio, known as Bramante.
