A castle in Sicily, which dates back to the Middle Ages, but owes its present appearance to much later reconstruction.
Already in Arab times there was a small fortress in this place. Later, the castle was taken over by the Venetians, but as a result of numerous wars it was destroyed. Today's buildings were built between the 17th and 19th centuries and are erected in the neoclassical and neo-Gothic style. The interiors have been made available to tourists and you can admire furniture, wall decorations and handicrafts from the 19th century.Less
