The main square of Piacenza, where the city's political and cultural life took place in the past. Its name comes from two Baroque horse monuments depicting Prince Alessandro and Ranuccio Farnese.
The square was marked out in the 13th century and initially it was called "Piazza Grande". Around him, a gothic prince's palace and the church of St. Francis. In the 17th century, the seat of a merchant guild and a governor's palace with neoclassical features were built here.Less
