Fort San Marco

The city fortifications of Peschiera del Garda date back to the 16th century and were built at a time when the city was ruled by Venice. They belonged to the defense system of the Republic. Currently, along with other defensive works from this period, they are included in the UNESCO list.

Fortifications include defensive walls, bastions, gates and military buildings. The entire complex is in the late Renaissance and early Baroque style, which means that despite the very modern military techniques used at that time, the buildings also have great artistic value.
