The sanctuary on the site of the first hermitage of St. Francis of Paola, a 15th-century ascetic and founder of the Order of Friars Minor (minimites). It consists of two churches, a Renaissance basilica in which the relics of the saint are kept and a modern temple, opened in 2000, whose symbolism refers to the life of St. Francis. In the area of the sanctuary there is also a spring considered to be a miracle and a grotto in which an ascetic lived in his youth.
