The basilica was built in the second half of the 19th century. XV century. The property was entered in the register of Italian monuments. The facade of the temple is considered a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture in Abruzzo. There is a mausoleum in the basilica that houses the remains of St. Bernardine of Siena.
