Originally a Romanesque-Gothic temple from 1268, it was rebuilt and equipped from scratch in the Baroque style after a great fire in 1771. The Brancacci chapel has been preserved intact with the Renaissance frescoes of Masolin, Masaccia and Philippi Lippi.
