Clusone is a small, historic town with a beautiful panorama of the Alpine peaks. It is famous for the frescoes preserved on the walls of many tenement houses and the medieval astronomical clock located in the main square.

In the Middle Ages, the city belonged to the Milanese Aliprandi family, but its heyday began in the 15th century, when it was taken over by Venice. It was then that a large part of the buildings was built, which still impresses everyone who comes to Clusone.

The biggest attraction of Clusone is the old town. Late Gothic and Renaissance tenement houses stand on cobbled streets, and their facades are covered with colorful frescoes. On the main square of the city, Piazza dell'Orologio, in the frescoed Palazzo del Comune is the medieval Fanzago planetary clock that shows not only the hours, but also the phases of the moon and the months.

The second important point in the old town is the Renaissance Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. from its square you have a wonderful view of the surrounding Alps town. Adjacent to the church is the Oratorio dei Disciplini building, on the wall of which there is a fresco painted at the end of the 15th century depicting the Dance and the Triumph of Death.
