The Cistercian monastery has two interesting attractions: a huge church without a roof and the chapel of Montesiepi, where according to legend, around 1170 Saint Galgano went. To this day you can admire his sword, which stuck in the stone as a sign of peace. The abbey was founded in the years 1218-1288, and the church is the first Gothic temple that was built in Tuscany.
