The cathedral being the seat of Archbishop Cagliari. It was dedicated to the Virgin Mary and Saint Cecilia. The church was built in the 13th century in the Romanesque style, then baroque elements were added, and in the 20th century the neo-Roman facade was inspired by the cathedral of Pisa. The main attraction of the interior is a pair of twelfth century pulleys by Master Guglielmo.
