The tower, also known as Volta's Lantern, was built in 1927 to commemorate the centenary of Alessandro Volta's death. This octagonal building, 28 meters high, was designed by the engineer Gabriele Giussani. Thanks to the easy access to the lower balcony and the upper observation deck at the top of the tower, it is a great vantage point.
